Dear Route 66ers,

At the beginning we in America had a road called Route 66 from Chicago to LA, more than 2200 miles, it was just a road then.
With the building of the super highways, highway No. 66 was replaced. It was commissioned in 1926 and decertified in 1985.
The day when Seligman, Arizona was by-passed early in the afternoon of September 22, 1978 was a very sad day for we the people, but more sad was when Williams Arizona was by-passed at which time the world was told no more Route 66, the end, the death of highway No. 66. The traveling public liked the super highways, our communities began to die, some did die.
In Seligman on February 18, 1987 we the people gave birth to Route 66, the resurrection of 66 began. Seligman has the destination of being the birthplace of the rebirth of Route 66.
The most beautiful moments of my day are meeting all those people that come from all walks of life, from not only our country but from all parts of the world. While in Seligman and Route 66 they see America of yesterday. Travel Route 66 by car, bus or motorbike, you will soon not forget, come smell the roses.
Just want to say thank you, Trond for all the tours you have brought to America and Seligman on this historic road, Route 66. It is always a pleasure to greet you and your people. My family and I look forward to those days.
Sincerely
Angel Delgadillo
